POSTCARD : Place of Interest DUE DATE: 3/27/14
3rd Due Date 4/3/14
1. You will receive a practice postcard from Mrs. Steele.
2. Find an interesting place in your Washington City or near it. It might be a monument, a beautiful building, an old building, a historic site or a famous restaurant. Maybe part of your town was in a movie, or featured in a book.
3. Draw your place of interest on the “front” of your card in pencil. Sketch to fill the frame of the picture.
4. Write a brief description on the top left hand box that tells what your drawing is representing.
5. Under the box on the left hand side, there is a space. Write a letter to a friend, Mrs. Steele, or your parents telling them why they should visit your city and what other fun or interesting things you might do. Three or four sentences should be a good goal. Use good word choices, correct grammar and correct spelling. Sign your name.
6. On the right hand side, address your card to the person. If it’s to me, you can use this format:
Mrs. Steele
6701 Fairview Rd SW
Olympia WA 98512
7. Once you’ve got it all down, turn it into Mrs. Steele for your yellow final cardstock copy.
8. You’re done!
