Under the box on the left hand side, there is a space.  Write a letter to a friend, Mrs. Steele, or your parents telling them why they should visit your city and what other fun or interesting things you might do.  Three or four sentences should be a good goal.  Use good word choices, correct grammar and correct spelling. Sign your name.

Native American Report

NATIVE AMERICAN REPORT
March 20, 2014 4th Grade Only

1.  Identify which native tribes were located in or near the town you chose to study this year.  Most communities are located in an area which had good natural resources for pioneers, which meant that they also were home to Native Americans at one point or another.  Your history of the city report likely mentioned a tribe.

2.  Research your tribe using the textbook, classroom resources, internet, or library books.   Identify whether they are coastal or plateau in customs, language, and resources.   Gather facts about family life, housing, animals, food sources, beliefs, history, language, location and territory.   If your tribe had an important person like a chief, please include that!

3.  Use your facts to create a report of about 200 words.  It may be typewritten or handwritten on white paper.  Leave the top half of your paper blank for step 4.

4.  Include an illustration that represents your tribe. It could be a photo of a famous chief or your own version of your tribe’s art, or perhaps a picture of a basket.

5.  Title with the name of the tribe and a byline with your name!
