Map test 10/12

These will be numbered on a map of the U.S.A.  Students will write the corresponding capital and state on the reverse side of the map.  Spelling, capitalization, and commas separating state and capitals count as well as correctly locating the state.

The first round of map tests went pretty well.  Most students did just fine!  If your student did not pass, I pulled them in to correct their test and talk about how to improve their score this week.

They are doing well!

Hello, fabulous fourth and fifth grade students and parents,

This week marks our first map test.  We've gotten some good practice down with state and capital names.  Now it's time to start finding them on a map as well.

This week we will locate the following states on a numbered map, then correctly spell their capital and state names on the quiz.

Olympia, Washington
Salem, Oregon
Sacramento, California
Honolulu, Hawaii
Juneau, Alaska
Carson City, Nevada
Boise, Idaho
